October 31, 2018 - Pennsylvania Grand Canyon

Bruce and I hopped in the RV-7 one late afternoon and headed north to the Pennsylvania Grand Canyon.  I haven't flown in in awhile and thought it might be pretty with the foliage.

Flying over some tree-covered ridges.
   
Approaching the entrance to the Pennsylvania Grand Canyon, just west of Williamsport, PA.  That's Pine Creek, straight ahead.
   
Looking east along the West Branch Susquehanna River.
   
And looking east.  Also the West Branch Susquehanna River.
   
I flew the RV heading north.  At the top, near the New York border, we made a 180 degree turn and Bruce flew it south.  So all the following pictures are on the south-bound leg.
   
The western side of the canyon was in dark shadow.
   
Passing by a deserted overlook.
   
The color was just not there; a little disappointing.
   
But it was still fun flying the canyon.
   
 
   
 
   
 
   
 
   
And then we were out, into the valley.
   
Climbing over the tree-covered ridges.
   
The flight back was nice, with the sun lighting everything up in front of us.
